Experience the art of winemaking: Winemaker for a Day at the View Wine Grape to Glass Centre

Step into the shoes of a master winemaker, well Brad or Stacey's shoes, for the day and experience the romance (and hard worl0 of being a wine grower and maker.  From the moment you arrive you'll be immersed in the artistry, tradition and hands-on craftsmanship of winemaking.  This exclusive experience will take you through the steps of the wine-making process, allowing you to learn, engage, and create wine from the vineyard to tank / barrel and beyond.  You will have the opportunity to hand pick the grapes, stomp on the grapes, load and work the basket press and mix up the inoculation yeast to start the fermentation process.  Yes, it can be messy, and you are likely to be splattered with grape juice, but it will all be well worth it!

During the day, we will share with you some of our finished View Wines (wines in bottle), give you barrel and tank samples to show you the different developmental stages of wine - a curated journey of wine that will help you better understand the world of wine tasting and appreciation

We will start the day with an introduction to our Grape to Glass Centre and vineyard, this will be made all the more fun with breakfast pastries tea and coffee.  Then we will head into the Vineyard to pick the grapes.  Depending on the season we will pick whichever variety is at optimal ripeness.  Once we have enough grapes, we will head to the Grape to Glass Centre to start processing.  For those who want to, we can wash our feet and then into the grapes we go to foot stomp the berries.  This is really fun and we will encourage everyone to give this a go.  Once the berries a crushed they will be bucketed into the Basket Press and we will start to extract the juice from the berries.  For the Science brains in the group, we will need to inoculate the juice with yeast to start the fermentation process.  Once the juice is safely inoculated we will sit down together for family lunch with wine.
